Newly released court documents cast doubt on Gingrich version of first divorce

Newt Gingrich claims that it was his first wife, not Gingrich himself, who wanted their divorce in 1980, but court documents obtained by CNN appear to show otherwise.

The Republican presidential candidate, now in his third marriage, has been peppered with attacks and questions about his divorce from Jackie Gingrich for the past three decades.

8. I have no idea what the laws are in other jurisdictions ....

....but, you can go to the court web site where I was divorced and quickly look up aspects of the divorce (free of charge) on-line. One will learn who filed and a number of other things.

all one needs is a name.

6. Newt wasn't paying his alimony so his ex-wife sought an order of contempt of court

Apparently that woke him up and he made the back payments. He also failed to provide a life insurance policy with his ex as beneficiary as ordered y the court.
