Dear Pope Francis,

A young, scared, and confused LGBT catholic kid needed, and deserved, your time more than Kim Davis.

amen.

2. Reading all the rationalization of his meeting with Pig Davis.

Sorry---it was a huge blunder that can't be ignored. They made it clear at the beginning that the Pope wanted to stay clear of America's culture war---Well they failed completely with that ill-conceived move.

3. They have been organizing with the American right wing on the 'culture wars' consistently.

Vatican Strengthens Ties with Evangelicals and Mormons Against Gay Marriage
"Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council: “The atmosphere was almost euphoric as the attendees from six of the world’s seven continents broke from the historic gathering to return to their respective nations renewed in their stand for marriage,” he says. “The courts may declare otherwise, and Hollywood may depict its demise, but the union of a man and a woman as the natural and enduring definition of marriage will endure until the end.”

Inviting the worst of the religious right to a three day party at the Vatican is a funny way to steer clear of the culture wars....

4. Hopefully that scared kid will reject this disgusting church entirely

and find comfort from people who don't cling to an antiquated, bigoted, idiotic, and irrational belief system.

6. One thing I don't get about this . . .

Why would the Pope - the head of the Catholic Church - meet with a woman who doesn't even believe his religion is real?? Why would he give her rosaries?? That's a Catholic thing.

She's a hypocrite who is only out for herself. Something Jesus would frown upon.

But that's OK - this Pope validated her lunacy!!!

7. Because she's being treated as a religious martyr.

Also, her parents are Catholic. And the Catholics and Evangelicals are BFF's when it comes to oppressing women, LGBT and crying about religious persecution.
