If you care about the USA, you should care about economic justice.
I don't see how anyone who claims to care about our nation could not be disturbed about the overwhelming and ever accelerating income and political power disparity in our nation.
The top 0.1% should not have the same amount of wealth as the bottom 90%.
The top 0.1% should not be able to spend as much as they want to influence election results.
How can reducing income disparity not be a crucial political priority of anyone who thinks the primary function of any government should be to help the average citizens of that government?
Is it just, "I worked hard and managed to succeed under the bullshit rules of the current system, so fuck everyone else who is in crippling debt or forever beholden to our 'justice' and 'credit' systems"?
Is it just, "I deserve every cent I hustled my ass for. Screw you for wanting a free lunch"?
Are you happy that as a nation we pay far more for our healthcare than any other nation just so we can keep poor people from getting a free lunch? Are you happy that health insurance companies and drug companies make far higher profits in the US than anywhere else in the world? Do outrageous hospital costs please you because you have gold plated health insurance that the rest of us slackers can only dream of?
Is it just, "I deserve this; you don't. I would never need a safety net for my health care needs. Your dilemma could never happen to me"?
