Those facts were just mentioned on MSNBC.
And yet, all we hear from the right wingers - when they're not busy looking for birth certificates - is what a profligate spender Obama is and how much he's raised taxes.
I wish he WAS raising taxes. That's one of my complaints about him. My other complaint is that he's not spending nearly enough.

Commentary: Government outlays rising at slowest pace since 1950s
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) Of all the falsehoods told about President Barack Obama, the biggest whopper is the one about his reckless spending spree.
As would-be president Mitt Romney tells it: I will lead us out of this debt and spending inferno.
Almost everyone believes that Obama has presided over a massive increase in federal spending, an inferno of spending that threatens our jobs, our businesses and our childrens future. Even Democrats seem to think its true.
But it didnt happen. Although there was a big stimulus bill under Obama, federal spending is rising at the slowest pace since Dwight Eisenhower brought the Korean War to an end in the 1950s.

I copied it but when I tried to paste it, all that shows is the guitar. I don't think we can email a thread like we used to be able to do on the old DU.

(1,033 posts)Blaming that all on Obama is absurd.
However, it's even more absurd to suggest Obama has gone on a spending binge.
