Many Americans do not know who he is, and many more are not overly impressed with his job position. I know he's Rachel's pal and she puts him on TV and I know that in his own region he is well known. I know who he is, I follow politics and I have ties to Newark and NJ in general. Most people I know do not know who he is, and once told they say 'and why is his opinion important? He's mayor of a medium sized city.'
Most Americans do not know who Corey Booker is. This should be good news to those of us who did not care for his message this weekend. He does not have the standing in society that many here seem to think he has. Cities with more people than Newark follow. Can you tell me who is Mayor of these towns? Fresno, CA. Colorado Springs, Wichita KS, Mesa AZ, Arlington TX. All far lager than Newark. Who is the mayor in each, no asking anyone. Now tell me why the mayor of Mesa AZ should get the ear of the nation.

If they haven't actually broken the rules just try to ignore them. You can also block people who are problematic for you.
Some of the problems are common to the internet - anonymity gives some people "courage" to let their worst selves shine through.

Tue May 22, 2012, 07:13 AM
May 2012

Mr. Booker underestimated the level of hubris entailed in the act of stepping into the middle of this campaign. Many consumer oriented businesses are backing away from participation in pacs because they don't want 50 percent of their customers mad. PAC funds so far have come from the independently wealthy, in short those who can find public approval irrelevant.

This is going to be an explosive campaign that I think Obama will win, but both sides will be quite angry at any moment with even slight provocation. It has gone quite negative very early, and this will not stop until after the election. The only hope for functional government is one party control of the WH and Congress, so the battle will spread down the ticket. The answer at the polls will define things for quite some time to come.

Booker stepped face first into a buzzsaw. Appeals to comity and non-partisan equanimity, as theoretically laudable as they might be, will not be heard this time around. My disappointment in him is that he is apparently not politically bright enough to have already known this.

He should be nervous
