(62,683 posts)what one man says -- one Mayor -- potentially hurt millions of people? His comment isn't going to directly affect anybody's economic security, or at least I don't see how it could. If I'm missing the point here, enlighten me -- sincerely.
I've been surprised at the backlash. Admittedly, I haven't devoted a lot of attention to it, but I essentially think he really said something he shouldn't have, but is basically a good guy and a fighter for our beliefs.
Again, if I'm way off track, please let me know.

(25,487 posts)He undercut the entire ad campaign that the president is running against Romney and bain. He made the false equivalence of comparing bain attacks to rev wright attacks.
He did more for the rombey campaign in one hour than any republican could ever hope to do.

(62,683 posts)indicates this is as much bullshit as they were. (If I'm being clear.) I understand the reaction now, although I still think it's a little frenzied and this will pretty much die down shortly.
But stuff like this that "does more for the campaign" doesn't usually get new voters, IMO. Those who are for Romney are probably reveling in it, as we do when the opposite occurs, but the vast majority of people don't give a damn. At least the vast majority of people I come in contact with wouldn't pay the least bit of attention.
It's unfortunate, but I still don't think it was intentional.

(12,310 posts)into a campaign on the offense and putting republicans on the defensive like we have them now. It took four fucking years to set this up. It was beautiful. And then this ass gets egotistical instead of following his talking points. Idiot. The dems need to ignore it and keep hammering away so that it gets forgotten.

(6,145 posts)I think he should change parties right now.
I know Booker he has ambitions for higher office but all his not lost for him. As a Republican he can aspire to the Joe Barton example. Barton was the guy who apologized to BP during congressional hearings for all those pesky questions about that unprecedented disaster thing in the gulf.
Change parties and chase the dream Cory.

(5,599 posts)a mistake!! Cory Booker is one of the best Dems we have.
Anyone bashing him on this board is trying to damage him because he is a potential Presidential candidate in the future.

I could not believe my eyes when I heard his remarks the other day!
I was disappointed, thus at first blush, I was surprised and delighted when he was on Rachel's today.
He indicated his strong support for Obama.
I have always liked him ---I have followed him for several years.
I want him to stay IN the Democratic Party ~ evidently Obama seems to want him to stay too.
I was NOT bashing him in the previous post.

(1,484 posts)I think that all of your words entered my cognitive thinking process just as you had intended.
I also think the analysis that Rachael Maddow made was spot on. Cory Booker lost concentration for a second and he spoke off topic. It happens all of the time, and she reinforced her thesis by showing example after example of it happening on the Right; and then she made the further comment that the Left is never as quick to pounce on it as the Right is.
The Right is trying to divide us. How can we be so low in our state of consciousness as to allow it to happen?
