CRESTVIEW — Old Glory mingled with the stars and bars, the Bonnie Blue and the battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia Saturday morning as a Southern Strong convoy of almost 40 vehicles marshaled in Old Spanish Trail Park ...

“We’re going to keep doing this every month,” Moore said. “We need to get the word out this is our history” ...

On Sept. 14, the Crestview City Council will discuss the battle flag’s presence over Confederate Park and its monument to Confederate veterans, including William “Uncle Bill” Lundy.

“It’s a Confederate soldiers’ memorial,” Lundy’s great-grandson, Greg Lundy, said. “We can’t think of a better place to flay a Confederate flag” ...

They're proud of what they did, or their great grandparents did. They got suckered into fighting, dying and suffering to preserve the institution of slavery for the entitled gentry. "...this is our history..." Yes, it is, and if you're too dense to see it for what it is, just keep organizing convoys and waving that flag.

way in hell that the Confederates could have won the war. Those in the North that pushed for the war knew that.
(Check the actions by the newly formed Republican Party of the era.)
Yet, to this day, I've never spoken with one Southerner that understood that they had been hoodwinked into a hopeless situation.

Like I did. And I know there are plenty of good, decent unbigoted folks there too. But my husband and I were shocked at some of the displays of racism present there.

This is exactly what happens in Northern Ireland that stirs up sh#t every year. Once a year during "marching season" a bunch of idiots -- just like these Florida idiots -- feel compelled to dress up in costumes and march with some stupid 300-year old flag right through the heart of neighborhoods where they know the gesture isn't wanted or appreciated. Trouble usually ensues.

The big cotton plantations were in the northern and central parts of the peninsula of Florida.

Many southern states almost had their own civil wars internally due to slavery.

West Tennessee, North Alabama, Florida Panhandle all made attempts like West Virginia.

If these fools understood anything, they would know that their ancestors in the area were likely against the war and probably only fought because they were drafted/forced to.
