I arrived here due to a passionate hate for what was going on in the early *bush years, wanting John Kerry to win. I stayed for the passion of this place, and perhaps contributed a bit to it.
I was passionate about Kucinich and his ideals, then moved on to President Obama, whom I still love and am grateful for.
Now, the passion is there again. Sanders v. Clinton. But in my opinion, it's better to have two viable candidates than a Kerry v. *bush. Or of the dozen+ milquetoast rethugs who are out there.
DU has evolved, but I do love that my friends here are so passionate in their beliefs, then and now. Thank you. Please don't take things so personally and don't get hurt. That is something I had to learn. But this is a great place to fly your flag and gain allies. It will all be moot down the road. But again, thank you for your passion!
And PS, is up with that trump guy? Ewwww!

(10,044 posts)I too get a kick out of politics, and fall in love with a politician every couple of years...
Obama's been my favorite - Was a bit too young to "know"
FDR, and Jimmy was a favorite as was JFK...
I have to come to DU. No sane person wants to talk to me, it always ends with, "did you see the news?", and they say "no, was watching Judge Judy"...

(171,056 posts)people outside I can share stuff with, except a twin sister who totally gets it, so we commiserate. Lots of DU friends on FB; it's all good!

That Trump guy? I find it very scary that he has as much support as he does. He is SO wrong on so many levels.
