Oath Keepers plan to arm 50 black Ferguson demonstrators with AR-15 rifles and dare cops to shoot

The gun-loving Oath Keepers plan to arm 50 black demonstrators with AR-15 rifles in Ferguson, Missouri, and basically dare police to shoot them.

The leader of the group’s local chapter told Red Dirt Report that the event would likely be held before the end of this month to protest an order last week by law enforcement officers to Oath Keepers to put away their rifles while in city limits.

“Every person we talked to said if they carried they’d be shot by police,” said Sam Andrews, head of the Oath Keepers chapter in St. Louis County. “That’s the reason we’re going to hold this event, and it will be a legal demonstration. I’m sick and tired of law enforcement who doesn’t think they have to abide by the law. They’re narcissistic and that guy (the county police chief) discredited my men.”

He said other Oath Keepers members would surround the black demonstrators as protection.The anti-government group, which is primarily made up of current and former law enforcement and military personnel who have vowed not to enforce gun laws they believe are unconstitutional, patrolled city streets as protests marked the one-year anniversary of the police shooting of Michael Brown.

10. This could turn out very badly for the Oath Keepers

The cops KNOW the Oath Keepers are as white as the sheets they'd wear if they could get away with it, so there's very little chance the cops would actually try shooting a black guy with a rifle who's surrounded by Oath Keepers. But let's assume the cops DO come in and shoot a black guy who was armed by the Oath Keepers. The black guys are going to remember who got them into this situation, and it will become open season on Oath Keepers.

Black people aren't stupid, and they're already on record as saying they'll shoot on sight any Oath Keeper they see with a rifle. The Oath Keepers are on record saying they're going to use black people as pawns in their Setting Up the Cops game.

I think what's MORE likely is the black people in Ferguson will tell the Oath Keepers to go fuck themselves, and that'll be the end of it. They know a setup when they see it.

Guns in places of high population density don't seem to be a smart move.

In Ferguson, armed people protecting property from looting would have been okay. Most people won't go around a business being protected like that.

I just don't get the point here. I know this is a conceal carry state (although I voted against it), it seems to me that too many of the cops in shootings are saying "I thought I saw a gun", so how is this demonstration not going to convince the cops that everyone has a gun and they have to shoot first?

I would never think it's a good idea as a black man,

question: Could anything possibly come from this kind of action? I cannot think of one thing good coming out of this situation.

All America has to see is armed AA and they rear up in terror. We have seen throughout history that fear was used to justify the deaths of many AA.

I think this is a very bad idea. Hopefully the cool heads we saw in Ferguson MO during most of this time rule.

Maybe the Oath Keepers should talk the police into disarming. See how that works out.
