American Airlines introduces premier seating for PETS for just $125

The Daily Mail:

The US-based carrier, American Airlines, are taking pet pampering to new heights.

They've just introduced a preferred seating programme for premier passengers' cuddly friends.

Anyone flying First Class from Los Angeles or San Francisco to New York on A321T planes will now be able to seat their pets in special compartments adjacent to their seat.

...snip...

'Cuddle Class' boasts two berths at the front bulkhead that each have a space with a vented door to hold a kennel or carrying case for takeoff and landing.

this applies to all sizes. A German Shephard or a Doberman
will hardly fit in there.

I'm disabled, so when I fly, I fly first class any more. I like dogs just fine, but their smell in an enclosed cabin is a bit much.

People bring dogs on board planes all of the time as it is.

This is already done

What the airline is trying to do is to upsell on pets that would otherwise be elsewhere in the passenger compartment.

Usually animals are not transported in the cabin. This service is for first class, not for other classes per the article.

When you say "usually", it's because most dogs are too big for carry-on / lapdog treatment anyway, but I've seen people buy another seat for a pet carrier.

That's what they make these for:

If there's a cat in there though, the cat is riding on my lap.

The flights I've been on, the animals have not been in the passenger cabin. I had to fly a lot last year, too.
