Activists successfully drop propaganda leaflets over North Korea border
SEOUL: South Korean activists led by Park Sang-hak, a North Korean defector, have successfully released balloons carrying anti-North Korean leaflets over the inter-Korean border.
The Fighters for Free North Korea said they released ten balloons containing about 200,000 leaflets early on Friday (Aug 14) from Yeoncheon county in Gyeonggi province, according to Yonhap.
The leaflets reportedly carried messages condemning North Korea for last weeks land mine explosion that seriously injured two South Korean troops. South Korea has accused the North of planting the mines on the southern side of the demilitarized zone separating the two Koreas.
The activists had originally planned to launch about 500,000 leaflets from Imjinkak near the border town of Paju.
