Hello. You know me, at least some of you. I've been here since 2003.

But a realization has come upon me as of late. While I have enjoyed all of your company, my depression cannot allow me stay for long periods of time in certain forums. This is due to primary season. I've enjoyed sharing with the work many of us have done to through the Forward Together Moral Monday movement. That kind of thing is what is in my heart and that is where I need to be. It is a movement where social justice, LGBT rights, economic rights, and the battle against privatization and middle class issues all come together. To sparse everything out here is a little too depressing for someone already suffering from depression. There are many forums here and I will visit them for my enjoyment. But for the most part, I don't cotton to the rancor or any blind loyalties to anything but the welfare of the people. Here, group think takes over sometimes. That is fine for you and it has it successes many times for the common good. But I'm attuned to common cause and truth to power, not flavors. Some of you are my Facebook friends as well as people I engage in in person. They are all cherished. But I have a problem. I need to stay away from things that exacerbates it for my children. Until I get a grip on my depression, I'm probably not doing either of us any good. I just wanted to tell you in case I get to a point I'm not around much anymore. That is why. But I hope to have the sense of mind when I'm in a funk, to give a status report. My forum list has many choices but those of you who stay primarily in GD and GD politics/primaries need to know. Have a great evening and together we can make the world a better place.

You and your family come first. Depression is such a devastating illness, which I battle myself from time to time. FWIW, staying away from wheat helps me. Hope things look up for you soon. (((HUGS))).

So don't get too involved in. I just had a poster completely and utterly project on me, in a way that was almost breathtaking...if it wasn't so absurd.

Be sure to get lots of sunshine in your life to balance the drag of the depression- we may all fail, but we tried, and that's what counts

I have also lessened the amount of time I spend here because of that. Many of the people here are wonderful people. But bad news can get so difficult to bear. It can cause a ripple effect of deep sadness in to a gushing whirlpool of desolation.

There are many many good therapies out there to help heal. I'll pm you.

This is what I did last week to make DU more tolerable for me.

I blocked the GD-Primaries forum, along with the forums for Hillary, O'Mslley and Sanders. And I auto-trashed the word T-r-u-m-p.

You wouldn't believe what a pleasant change it made.

Here's hoping that the dark cloud of depression lifts for you as soon as possible. It's hell.

I understand what you're talking about here. Please know you're not alone. Please get treatment, it's available and it may take some time. Then you identify what causes you too much stress and you stay the heck away from it. I love your posts and wish you all the best my friend. Look forward to seeing you again here in the future. Know that we love you and we're with you!

Balance!

Those here who don't maintain a healthy balance in their lives have zero tolerance and are blind to their nastiness.

I've been a member for a decade despite my very modest post total. I take multiple, lengthy breaks to prevent from getting sucked into the nastyness I encounter. It's a shame folks here can figure that out for themselves.

I'm staying out of the primaries this time. Mostly just popping in to read occasionally, and very rarely posting anymore. I've gotten kind of burned out on politics, as well as the constant DU bickering, and focusing more on personal issues these days.

Best of luck.
