How I miss June 26, 2015, on DU

It was the day the Supreme Court eliminated the term "same sex marriage." It would be simply marriage.

Several days earlier, the Supreme Court kept in place the Affordable Care Act.

And, coincidentally, it was the day after GD was split into the primary home and the general.

How wonderful GD was. Everyone was happy, all the posts were positive full of rainbow images from across the country.

We felt united and confident for the future.

Alas, in less than four weeks we are sniping at each other. Yes, the police has not stopped killing black people and now we have videos. But we can still be angry about police brutality and... about animal brutality. We can decide to take a break, and we certainly do not have to read every single thread and every single post. We don't have to alert for every single post that we disagree. We can choose to stay and rebut. This is, after all, a discussion board.

But, at least for one shining day (sorry, Camelot), this place was exploding with happiness.

Sigh.

People are governed by their passions and that's forever in flux, it can't stay fixed either to the positive or the negative.

Thanks for the thread, question everything.
