Republicans seek "extremely literate conservative African-American" for role in Obama SwiftBoating

WASHINGTON — A group of high-profile Republican strategists is working with a conservative billionaire on a proposal to mount one of the most provocative campaigns of the “super PAC” era and attack President Obama in ways that Republicans have so far shied away from.

“The world is about to see Jeremiah Wright and understand his influence on Barack Obama for the first time in a big, attention-arresting way,” says the proposal, which was overseen by Fred Davis and commissioned by Joe Ricketts, the founder of the brokerage firm TD Ameritrade. Mr. Ricketts is increasingly putting his fortune to work in conservative politics.

The $10 million plan, one of several being studied by Mr. Ricketts, includes preparations for how to respond to the charges of race-baiting it envisions if it highlights Mr. Obama’s former ties to Mr. Wright, who espouses what is known as “black liberation theology.”

The group suggested hiring as a spokesman an “extremely literate conservative African-American” who can argue that Mr. Obama misled the nation by presenting himself as what the proposal calls a “metrosexual, black Abe Lincoln.”

1. Does any American really GIVE a shit about Jeremaiah Wright . . .

. . . as much as Republicans THINK they give a shit?

It's hilarious, really, that they're going this route . . . more hilarious than the fact that Conservatives have approximately BUPKIS ELSE to run on as far as a successful track record goes.

ROFL: what kind of Dinosaurs do these people have in their think tank? How the hell do they think a Black on Black hate campaign is a winning slogan? ROFL didn’t Cain and that clown Allen West already play the Uncle tom role? This should be funny.

8. Those "extremely literate conservative African-American" types are apparently so rare

that they gotta put it in the job description.

Their racism leaks through every pore, donnit?

OK, to be fair, there is that "conservative" problem. They probably had "non-psychotic" on the list too, but had to remove it in order to have any candidates at all for the job.

20. Obama saw the fried chicken, watermelon and pimp photos EARLY in the game...

...he's smart enough to have gotten where he is right now, and smart enough to know that the intensity level of the racism and unfounded attacks is going to go through the roof.

I look at it the same way I looked at having my tonsils out, at age 26. Having your tonsils removed as an adult is no walk in the park. They give you a "fact sheet" that tells you that you will be in pain following the surgery, but by the third day, you can expect that pain to significantly increase. Mine did, it was excruciating. I had to grind my pain pills into fine powder and put them in fruit juice.

So whatever pain candidate Obama experienced in 2008 is going to be like that tonsillectomy. In 2012, it most certainly is going to increase...significantly.

I think it's a perfect illustration of your comments. It's there when he needs it. He does the easygoing thing very, very well, and it might be what he's actually like in "real life." But if you poke him with a stick, he will absolutely poke you back (sometimes with a smile, other times not).

I anticipate some poking back in the days ahead.

22. This is going to blow up in their faces.

The Jeremiah Wright story will get about as much traction as the Birther insanity. They're insane hatred of Obama is going to come through in their adds. It's going to have the same effect that Sarah Palin's Tea-Klan rallies had the last time around. It's going to come across as the vile pure race hatred that it is.

Until now we've always thought that the people who bankrolled the GOP were the sane leading the insane. Now it appears that they've all gone insane.

The smart thing to do is not to get caught up in a debate over their adds. Just keep pushing the Bain attacks.

Joe Ricketts and his family are the owners of the Chicago Cubs!

I think that every good Democrat should boycott the Chicago Cubs and write to your TV or cable provider and tell them why.

Just remember losers support losers
The Cubs can have a bad century or two like any team!

41. Ricketts is backing off this as fast as possible -- well THAT took less than a day

After hours of backlash from both Republicans and Democrats, Ricketts, commissioner of the ad campaign and founder of the brokerage firm TD Ameritrade -- and whose family owns the Chicago Cubs baseball team -- said the plan was merely one of several proposals his group was considering.

Brian Baker, who heads the conservative super PAC supported by Ricketts, said Ricketts would not approve the scheme, as it "reflects an approach to politics that Mr. Ricketts rejects."

Bullshit. Ricketts must have 1, or possibly 2 people in his circle of jerks, that told him "THIS IS A LOSING APPROACH." Not because it is vile and racist but because even they understand it will backfire and RMoney is going to lose.

RMoney is going to lose anyway, but don't tell this old fuck that yet. Let him poor more $$$ into a different "More mild racist" approach. LOL

great website and customer service. I have no idea who owns it or anything.
I have two IRAs there and another joint account with my husband.
These are not tied to an employer. They are self-opened accounts since I was self-employed and my husband's work offers no retirement.

Things are down now in the market, but if you have faith things will rise over the long term, now would be a good time to buy IMO.
