House Democrats Take To Twitter To Decry GOP Move On Confederate Flag
After the House quickly approved two amendments on Tuesday that restricted the display of the flag on federal land, Republicans scheduled a vote for Thursday to undo them. Democratic leaders took to Twitter to rail against this move.
Rep. Keith Ellison
Amazed my Republican colleagues are defending a symbol of slavery and hate. The Confederate flag belongs in a museum #TakeItDown
Rep. E B Johnson
The Confederate Battle Flag is nothing more than a badge of division & oppression. I proudly #StandWithCharleston calling to #TakeItDown!
Rep. Terri Sewell
I #StandWithCharleston calling on @HouseGOP to drop this disgraceful gambit that represents hatred and racism! #TakeItDown
