Johnny Cooper is carrying his flag from Montgomery to DC!

... Cooper, a nearly retired maintenance man and electronics technician from Hazel Green, Alabama, said he’s concerned about an erosion of personal freedoms ...

... He says people who think the Confederate flag is a racist symbol do not understand the history and heritage of the South ... Mr Cooper also said he is walking to oppose the recent Supreme Court decision to legalize same-sex marriage ..

Here is a picture of Johnny Cooper carrying his flag on his epic 800 mile walk-about

For the benefit of all you goddamyankees who do not understand history and heritage, we should explain that this is the famous flag Christopher Gadsden designed for the Army of Northern Virginia in 1775 when the South was explaining they would secede if the Supreme Court ever legalized gay marriage, because that's why we had been busily rescuing all those poor African folk and resettling them on prosperous Southern cotton plantations in the first place

We think it's nice when people send food and medicine to African nations. Hah! That's nothing! The people of the south sent ships there to pick them up and deliver them to a land where they would be safe from wild animals and enjoy that famous southern hospitality. Talk about generosity!

Willing suspension of disbelief is fine when reading fiction or going to the movies. Not so much IRL.

Enslaving blacks was only the first step in the process of exposing them to the benefits of US democracy and Christian values.

So it's about bigotry, but it's totally not about bigotry.
