Rick Santorum: Court ruling on marriage equality proves me right about ‘man on dog’

Two-time presidential candidate and former U.S. senator Rick Santorum is perhaps best-known for two things – an unfortunate Internet neologism that made his name synonymous with a byproduct of anal sex and his bizarre comments about “man on dog” relationships.

Santorum, who’s running again for the Republican presidential nomination, unsuccessfully lobbied Google to alter search results involving his name – but he thinks he was vindicated in his warning against bestiality, reported Right Wing Watch.

He first made the comparison in 2003, shortly before the U.S. Supreme Court struck down state bans on sodomy, saying such laws against consensual sex were necessary to prevent non-consensual sex.

“In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality,” Santorum said at the time. “That’s not to pick on homosexuality. It’s not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be.”

He has defended his remarks over the years, and now he says he was right along. Santorum was asked about his long-ago warning about “man on dog” sex at a Colorado conservative gathering the same day the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage.

“What I say is if you have the right to consensual sexual activity, then it opens the door to a variety of different things — and this ruling did it,” Santorum said.

Idiot.

Nothing at all to do with the 'fuckee'; it's only the Will of the 'fucker' that matters. It's not about whether the dog (or the woman or anyone else has the POWER to consent or not) it's about the Man deciding what or who is going to get fucked by him today, and thats where the discussion ends. Consent in this case means that 'I have decided I'm going to have sex with you, and you're just not going to give me any backtalk about it. He's worried that when it comes to teh gay, that he might want to say NO based on his own personal preferences, and like all women ( in his mind, anyway) this objection will be simply be ignored=).
THAT'S his problem. Youre always a misogynist BEFORE you're a homophobe.
ALWAYS.

So Frothy, where is it that you going to see "man on dog" sex? Do they have a cover charge or do they waive that for regulars like you?

who wants to marry her dog as a protest against marriage equality.

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2015/06/30/south-dakota-county-clerk-threatens-to-marry-her-dog-to-oppose-gay-marriage/

Not willing to set herself on fire, a South Dakota county clerk has decided to oppose gay marriage in a less painful but equally nonsensical way: She will try to marry her dog.

Once again proving that the only slippery slope exists in the fevered minds of the homophobe, the Sioux Falls resident apparently believes that if she were to marry her dog this would prove that gay marriage is wrong, although you would be hard pressed to figure out how.

And Santorum deserves all the approbation he can get. He's stubbornly ignorant, and continues to do incalculable damage to millions of people across the country with his bigoted remarks.

"It does not affect your daily life very much if your neighbor marries a box turtle. But that does not mean it is right. . . . Now you must raise your children up in a world where that union of man and box turtle is on the same legal footing as man and wife."

-- Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.), advocating a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage in a speech Thursday to the Heritage Foundation. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A43048-2004Jul11.html

Man on turtle sex is arguably even weirder than man on dog sex. At least dogs are mammals. But yeah, seems like the only people who actually talk about bestiality in public are GOP politicians.

the idea that same-sex marriage opens the door to polygamy.

He was asked whether the Obergefell v. Hodges decision would open the door to polygamy, and Santorum said he didn’t see why not.

“(The ruling) has certainly opened the door for a variety of other things that are going to happen,” Santorum said.
