WaPo: As Donald Trump surges in polls, Democrats cheer

For Democrats, Donald Trump amounts to a kind of divine intervention.

With the Republican Party on an urgent mission to woo Latino voters, one of its leading presidential candidates has been enmeshed for two weeks in a nasty feud over his inflammatory comments about Mexican immigrants.

“They’re bringing drugs,” Trump said in his campaign announcement speech. “They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.”

The comments — and many more since — have prompted an uproar among Latino groups and acrimonious breakups between Trump and various corporate partners. His outlandish rhetoric and skill at occupying the national spotlight are also proving to be dangerously toxic for the GOP brand, which remains in the rehabilitation stage after losing the 2012 presidential race.

1. Words I never thought would come from me:

I've got Coulter's back on this one: I, too, want the nom to go to Trump. Unfortunately, though, I think she and I may be disappointed. I still think it will be Jeb, Walker or Rubio--and I'm not really sure about Rubio. They may make him wait "his turn." If the Kochs lean hard enough for Walker, he may make it. But, I think Jeb is the most likely.

2. I believe Democrats said this about Reagan - they were glad he was The Republicans nominee

because he could never win. Be careful what we wish for. Donald might win - just like Reagan did. The crazier a candidate is the more The Republicans like them. Donald is the king of crazy.

3. The Latino & minority vote will undo him, however.

And move those voter blocks swiftly to the Dems.

But I do get your comparison to Reagan.
Should get interesting since Trump is no friend of the Bush's either.
