Virtually every GOP in 2016 race has voiced acceptance of injecting Bblical law over social issues. Cruz is even the ultra-theocratic Dominionists' "Anointed One"

While they may just be pandering for votes and would largely ignore religionists once in WH (like Shrub mostly did), I wouldn't count on it. Look at all the theocratic laws against reproductive rights passed by the plethora of overly religious legislators.

These people don't know Nazis from communists. They just lump together everyone and everything they hate, which means pretty much everyone and everything. How are they going to "defy" anything? All they can do is huddle in their churches and promise God they will shoot anyone who tries to hold a gay wedding there. Big deal. They're over. Done.
