Right-wing whackjob Bryan Fischer blames SC shooting on gun bans

A white gunman killed nine people Wednesday night, after opening fire on a Bible study group gathered at the historically black Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina. Reverend Clementa Pinckney, a Democratic state senator and pastor at the church, was among the victims.

As the community and nation struggled to comprehend the level of hate that could motivate such a heinous act of racially motivated terrorism, Christian conservative radio host Bryan Fischer, a former director of issues analysis for the right-wing American Family Association, knew what the real problem was:

Misguided bans on guns in houses of worship turned this black church in SC into a shooting gallery. Nobody could shoot back.

They are the ones who have been blatant in their bigotry for our President. They're the ones who have constantly used their racist dog whistles in their attempt to demean and degrade the office. They are the ones calling up and encouraging these terrorist acts by bigoted citizens with their thinly veiled calls for violence against people of color. Republican have sent the signal that is acceptable for all of them to come back out of the closet and express their bigoted views with violence.

That mindset and the proliferation of guns in our society will only lead to more senseless killings.

They have gun bans in South Carolina? Next thing I will hear is that they have banned barbecue in Texas.
