http://www.occupydemocrats.com/watch-foxs-hannity-gets-fact-checked-by-texas-pool-partier-and-her-dad/Its the usual FOX News bait-and-switch, laying the blame on the victims and forgiving the officers inexcusable action. Officer Casebolt had thrown an obviously unarmed fifteen-year-old to the ground with excessive force. Hannity implies that the officer was in danger from two boys, who were rushing to the aid of the young woman, and that the cop didnt pull the gun out on the girl. His guest, a father of one of the partygoers, takes issue with that: We value the lives of both black boys and girls! What difference does it make if it was pointed at a girl or boy he pointed a gun at an unarmed teenager. I dont know any police regulation that allows you to pull your weapon out on unarmed children!
Its shocking that Hannity cant see past his own blinding prejudice to recognize that the officer acted irresponsibly and inappropriately, and that the act of pulling a gun out and manhandling children is somehow an acceptable thing to do. While the vast majority of police officers are far above such behavior, it must not be dismissed when incidents like this does occur. You have to watch it until the end.

(2,673 posts)I see an out of control cop chasing a bunch of kids while waving his gun in the air. I am so thankful that the other cops tried to calm him down and that he did not shoot anyone. I hope they never let him wear a police uniform again.
I live in Dallas county and Collin County is just above us. The area where the pool party occurred is deep Tea Party country. You have to be republican to win any election in Collin county. Racism runs deep up there, they would never let low income housing in their town. It used to burn me up that they refused to open a clinic to help low income people who then came down to Dallas's Parkland hospital for treatment and Dallas county taxpayers had to pick up the bill. I think some churches up there finally shamed them into opening a clinic for low income families. I was surprised to see that black families lived in the Craig Ranch Development.

(4,879 posts)I too live in Dallas County. Yes, Collin County is one of the wealthiest in the nation.
I remember when Collin County was wide open farmland. I find it quite sad that it as become nothing more than one gated community after another. It must be quite shocking for some of those white bigots to find POC with the income to live amongst them.
I get beat up a lot here on DU for pointing out the racism and classism in Texas.
However, I don't think it was only the poor residence who used Parkland Hospital. There was a whole big stink a couple years back about this. Parkland Hospital threatened to check tax records and start billing Collin County for their resident cheaters.
