GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. - "There was one gunman with a handgun and they chose to turn this house into something that resembles Osama Bin Laden's compound."
Leo Lech is more than a little upset, and he is not afraid to express it with colorful language.
After all, the house he purchased for his son now has gaping holes where it once had walls and windows. Past the exposed studs and insulation of the condemned structure, you can see artwork on the wall of a 9-year-old boy's bedroom.

(21,714 posts)The whole thing is ridiculous. The police department hopefully will be paying for all the damage for both the homeowner and the son who was renting from his dad.

(12,647 posts)Looks like something you'd see after a car bomb went off or if the house had been targeted with a few mortar rounds. And the police chief just "brushed it off" as what - Better safe than sorry?. Was there a "use by" shelf-life sticker on their SWAT bazookas?
Part of regular modern police work, I guess. Just blow it up, and we'll sort it out later.
At least they let the mother talk the 9 year old child out, before they blew it apart.
