Beau Biden: Dad 'spoke from heart'

Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, son of Vice President Joe Biden, said Friday that he was “proud” of his father for speaking “from the heart” when he endorsed gay marriage on Sunday, setting off a series of events that led to the president doing the same several days later.

“My dad spoke from his heart on a very important issue, about civil rights. And that’s what he’s done for 30 years as a United States senator,” said the younger Biden on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

“He speaks with candor… And I think that’s what this administration, that’s what, I think, this president, expects from him. And I’m incredibly proud of both of them,” added the younger Biden.

Beau Biden said he watched the taped version of the “Meet the Press” interview with his father Sunday.
“I sat there, and I was moved,” said Beau. “I was as, or more, moved by what the president said two days later.” /snip

2. I've always believed Joe has a good heart.

I often cite watching a campaign vid from the 2008 primaries (before Iowa) and he was speaking to a small group of military medical personnel.

He was apoplectic about the treatment our veterans were receiving. He started out with typical campaign bits, but got sidetracked (really? Joe?) and worked himself into a fury. I watched it several times and each time was on the edge of my seat and holding my breath and on the verge of tears myself. He just cares SO MUCH.

4. Agreed. Say what you will about Joe Biden,

and I like him a lot, I don't think the man has a phony or mean-spirited bone in his body. Most pols have a filter but Joe speaks his mind and heart.

7. I am really impressed with Beau Biden. He is an exceptional speaker and very authentic.

He's another rising star in the Democratic Party, along with Elizabeth Warren and Martin O'Malley. They all share this sense of decency, of humanity, of a kindness of spirit. 2016 is going to offer a tough choice...

5. The time I saw him in Nashville was impressive too...

He can be a bit diplomatic when in public and on camera, but when in a closed room of fellow Democrats, he holds nothing back. I mean nothing.
