I am worried that a Hillary administration will be more triangulation and centrism. I fear a Rahm Emmanuel VP if she is elected. We need to move both the people and our party back towards progressivism. If she can handle that and we can be garaunteed a progressive enough VP then good. Of course I guess I will have to vote for her if she wins, but I plan on fighting very hard for Bernie!

Centrism has not worked for building up the party or the message. I think Sanders is different enough and sturdy enough that we will can at least establish a foundation that we can build onto.

she could always pick Bernie for her VP, no way would they take her out to put the socialist in. Wouldn't get us much, though, VP is largely symbolic, he does more good in the Senate than he would as VP.

And massive voter turnout could change everything.

Even in gerrymandered districts like mine, the more people who show up and vote, the more the populist wins, no matter what party he or she is on. I have seen it for almost 30 years here.
The idea is to get out the vote. That is what it all boils down to.

Again, if you get out the vote you win. Less than 1/2 of registered voters vote in a good year. When you do whatever is necessary to get voters to the polls and vote, you win. I have personally done it for local, congressional, senate, and state elections. If it works there, district by district, it can be done.

Wed May 27, 2015, 06:38 PM

The way gerrymandering works (I'm sure you're aware), is that they setup a lot of districts to narrowly go their way, rather than having the more natural concentration of certain areas going their way big with other areas not going their way.

In a wave election, the gerrymandered districts actually make it easier to reverse a huge number of seats.

They set up around 60% majority districts. Not 51% majority districts. A "wave" election is around a 5% swing. A 10% swing is massive.

Curious about the 10%, I would not think they woud be able to setup many districts for that large of an advantage unless a state was overwhelmingly Republican. I could be wrong about that, if you have a source I'd love to read it, thanks.

And if the slavers steal the election again it will be much more apparent if Bernie is our candidate. I doubt people would hit the streets when the election is stolen from Hillary. Bernie is the only one who can put some stink on this pitch and show the world what a bunch of murderous lying clowns the Republican party are and that we the people are not them. Then maybe the U.N. will monitor our Diebold machines. A boy can dream.

“When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? Perhaps to be too practical is madness. To surrender dreams — this may be madness. Too much sanity may be madness — and maddest of all: to see life as it is, and not as it should be!”

and Bernie will make it an honest primary. We'll have honest debates. Regardless of who the Democratic party chooses for it's nominee next summer, we will go into the 2016 campaign with a good platform and honest ideas. If Americans elect one of the Republican clowns, it deserves to die. We'll be bombing Iran by 2017, and 2020 may not even arrive.

For now, Bernie's my guy.. but I will NOT be bashing Hillary. I actually like her and think she would be an excellent president, as will Bernie.
