2. Not the greatest optics in the world

Of course, the last time he went to Sandtown, he got booed. ![]() |

4. War of 1812 Site
Federal Hill Park has historic significance for O'Malley. That location is important for the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. O'Malley is an avid student of the War of 1812. In the History Channel's documentary of the War of 1812, O'Malley appeared in a segment about the British attack on Baltimore in 1814.
Ironically, Warren Avenue is adjacent to the park. |

7. Trivia Alert
O'Malley also had a small role playing himself in the movie, "Ladder 49." We actually have the DVD.
O'Malley has referenced the War of 1812 in his speeches on more than one occasion. If you wish to read more about this interest, this article might help you: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/09/09/the-presidential-hopeful-obsessed-with-the-war-of-1812.html ETA: 1812 Interest |

13. Nightmare Memories for Maryland
Robert Ehrlich and Michael Steele... It was such a relief to have O'Malley and Brown replace that corrupt team.

8. Great news!
A robust primary is always a good thing.
Three excellent candidates, once Martin O'Malley announces, to choose from and maybe even more before too long. |

15. Pretty much a sure thing.
He had to time the "official announcement" to satisfy FEC requirements for exploratory campaign funding.
