"I finally get these guys. Their ability to delude themselves qualifies them to be Republican more than their sexual preference disqualifies them."
"A Log Cabin Republican is like a chicken who works on behalf of KFC."
"President who supports gay marriage = bad. Political party that opposes it = good. This sums up the psychopathy of the Log Cabin republicans."
"What a MORONIC statement. We're opposed to Obama because he didn't come out with this statement prior to NC, but we're happy with the Republicans who are totally opposed to the idea."
"Wait until these guys hear all the things their Republican pals have to say on the subject, when it comes to offensive and callous, they ain't seen nothing yet."

(2,322 posts)...was a serious disappointment when it came to equality up to this point. From the start, we all wanted more from him. And this is certainly, in that respect, late in coming. But come on! If you want to criticize Obama for not being supportive enough, early enough of gay rights then you can't belong to the party that electing homophobes and funneling money into laws like the one that just pasted in NC!
I can't think of an apt enough metaphor for these guys. Criticizing the candidate of the political party fighting for your rights as being "too little, too late" while staunchly supporting the party intent on taking away your rights? With candidates like Rick Santorum and Rick Perry? These gay republicans are, themselves, the metaphor.

(11,327 posts)I was thrilled when he started to stand up to the right.
I'm much happier with him today than two years ago.
He's taking the fight to them instead of reacting and yielding.

(2,322 posts)--he was at least leaning towards equality, not actively working against it. We could be unhappy with him for dragging his feet, but at least he wasn't planning on doing more damage. And he did pay off--if slowly--with the repeal of DADT, etc.
The Log Cabin Republicans are voting for candidates who, far from standing up for them, would happily turn back the clock and put them in jail for being gay! These candidates and their party are actively doing damage and would do more if they could. If that's who you're voting for, then you haven't any right complaining about candidates that haven't been doing enough for you and your rights, no matter what side of the aisle they're on.
