UPDATE: Gov. Chris Christie Spent $300K On Food, Alcohol, NFL Concessions Using N.J. Taxpayer Money
Gov. Chris Christie has spent $360,000 from his state allowance during his five years in office -- more than 80 percent of which, or $300,000, was used to buy food, alcohol and desserts, according to a New Jersey Watchdog analysis of records released by the governor’s office.
Some of Christie’s most notable expenses happened during the 2010 and 2011 NFL football seasons at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, where the Giants and Jets play their home games. Christie used a debit card, on 58 occasions, to pay a total of $82,594 for concessions at MetLife, according to the report. The governor’s office wouldn’t provide any receipts or records for the expenses to New Jersey Watchdog, but defended the governor’s spending practices. http://patch.com/new-jersey/mendham-chester/christie-buys-300k-food-alcohol-using-nj-taxpayer-money-0

2. "Consuming mass quantities..."
Since a bad beer costs about $8 in the nosebleed section of the stadium, can you imagine what top shelf liquor costs in a VIP suite? (And Christie always demands the best! He deserves it!)

5. And the Republicans pound the poor
for wanting to treat themselves to an occasional steak or crab or heaven forbid even grapes (which was one complaint that I heard).

7. Almost everyone I know on food stamps is a Republican
It's those OTHER people on food stamps that don't deserve them.

8. NJ Governor apparently gets a $95,000 a year expense allowance. I'm not up in arms about
him spending it on food, drink and entertainment. Governors, Presidents, Mayors, Ambassadors and such have allowances for those purposes.
What this reminds me of is the hypocrisy the GOP has about, as others have mentioned, poor folks wanting something nice for themselves every so often. Why is that 'bad' and this completely OK for Republicans? |
