Who has everything California needs???

City of Vancouver, a coastal seaport city on the mainland of British Columbia, Canada. Except a USA zipcode.

With only 6mo to yr supply of water, a run on BC is just waiting to happen.

IMO, I doubt that BC is ready for a new gold rush like influx that could endup being annexed by the US. Welcome to the the 51 state.

Canadians are offended by the notion that they're "just like us." They're not Americans and they prefer not to be thought of as "American who say heh." Yes, they're too polite to let you know they're offended; that pat of the stereotype is pretty much true. And BC is definitely ready for a gold rush. They had a big one when the UK gave Hong Kong back to China. Many wealthy people from Hong Kong cashed in their chips and moved to BC, bringing all sorts of money, commerce, and social changes with them.

There won't be a run because the prices there are insanely high, as evidenced by http://www.crackshackormansion.com/ There is also a part II, so the problem is ongoing.

Now coastal Oregon and Washington might see influxes of people who are able to flee the drought but even there they will be hard pressed to adapt to the rainy season.

I just hope they don't come here. They have after other disasters.

to start sending water tankers south. We'll see how that goes, too, it's cheaper than a pipeline.
