The head of the Baltimore Fraternal Order of Police, in a statement about the Freddie Gray death, likened the protesters to a "lynch mob".
Nice. You inciteful fuck.

(7,234 posts)And before you start jumping down my throat about "union busting", I don't look at police unions as "unions".
Real unions fight for fair wages and safe working conditions while Police "unions" fight for the right of people within their ranks to kill people and get away with it and will arrest members of other unions to protect big corporations. They have never showed solidarity with the struggle of other union members.
This is what Police "Unions" stand for:

(6,409 posts)That's pretty typical of a statement from the leader of the FOP union in any large city. They always go on the offensive by getting offensive when they respond to criticism involving a death or other serious misconduct. It plays to the Fort Apache mentality among the cops. Of course, it's just another wedge driven between the police and the community, another tactic that makes cops and citizens fear and distrust each other.
