Question: Too big is bad??

We hear all the time that government has gotten too big and controls our lives.
How can republicans do not say the same thing about corporations that have gotten too big and have gotten too big and controls our lives??

I would think that things that have gotten too big to do the job should apply to all things.

Just another disconnect with the republican brain

1. Too big is definitely bad, corporate-wise,

which is why we've got anti-trust laws.
As to government, big is difficult to handle, which is why we could use a responsive CONGRESS, in addition to POTUS, AND State and local government, with fair elections.

4. At one time anti-trust laws were used

when was the last time the government actually went after anyone for anti-trust??

Look at media, banks, investment firms ........
AT&T is back to buying everyone again and no one stops them

6. Right, anti-trust enforcement has really gone down the tubes in recent years.

2. Well given that most government discretionary spending is on the military

Yes, too big is too bad. Unfortunately, Military spending seems to be the last thing they cut. Same with "homeland security". Cut those two and I'll cheer.

5. The only point I was trying to make was the comparison

of big government and big corporations
that if you are against one then it should follow that you are against both

and I agree this country spends way too much of a percentage of revenue on military, police, bases, just plain protection. That was the downfall of past failed civilizations
