(62,269 posts)But Bernie is a no-brainer.
If Clinton uses populist rhetoric then from a purely civic point of view, you have to listen and not be dismissive. To be dismissive would just be to play into the Republican hands.

(36,279 posts)...because there are probably some other potential nominees that I won't vote for, but I certainly won't ever vote for HRC.

(62,325 posts)Sherrod Brown is another Dem I would like to see running.
He hasn't totally dismissed it. He has dismissed being a VP candidate.
If Bernie runs, I will definitely support him. But no one has a chance against Wall St money, other than their own preferred and funded candidate. That is the reality.

(80,708 posts)i'll wait until we have both a slate of announced candidates AND they have offered concrete statements on policy and issues, before I endorse any of them.

(45 posts)I love Bernie. He best represents what I believe. I've thought about 2016 and I feel it's time to do whatever I can to help elect someone like Bernie instead of sitting on the sideline and half-heartily voting for Hillary in the general election.
There's no doubt Hillary is the favorite but I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that she is the nominee. I've yet to talk to a Democrat in-person about 2016 and receive positive feedback about her. That's not to say we all won't vote for her. Obviously she is better than anyone the Republicans could nominate. However if there is someone on the left - I hope Bernie - that can motivate people to get involved and push back against the establishment, I believe there is a chance for that candidate to succeed.
