Have you met anyone that has sided with Michael Slager (cop who shot Walter Scott in back) yet?

Thankfully I haven't. In fact I was pleasantly surprised when I went into work yesterday and spoke with this neo-con who ALWAYS defends cops. Even she said this was murder. So then I went to Free Republic, land of racist cop defenders. I clicked on a thread, and read the first 25 or so replied. Every single one of them was against this cop. I was shocked, because Freepers always take the cop's side.

So, have you met or heard on TV/radio/FaceBook anyone yet who can possibly defend this police officer? Even the hard-core neo-cons on my FB aren't defending him (they are silent, but still).

by stating we don't know what actually happened before.... and if he was grabbing for the taser.... etc.. the usual stuff. But they don't have a leg to stand on, so they don't push it too far.

You can be sure they are digging hard into his (Scott's) background to find a reason justifying the shooting.

This is an isolated incident, one bad apple spoiling the fun for everyone and letting cop hating liberals paint with a broad brush yadda yadda yadda I've talked to 2 or 3 of those

It's a condemnation of Slager.

I know that you didn't say it was a defense of Slager. You said it was the closest you'd heard to a defense. But I just wanted to underscore.

It's still a denial that police brutality is a systemic problem, however.

My neighbor (the local sheriff) tried that one. I gave a wry smile and asked if he REALLY thinks this is just a bad apple. He finally admitted that there are far too many cops who shouldn't be cops.

I'd bet he had defenders before the video and the charge.

And, I'd bet he's still have defenders if anyone in authority were still defending him.

Not a one.

Strange, that is . . . considering the Klan-issued goggles with which they all watched the Tamir Rice drive-by.
