http://www.salon.com/2015/02/13/rand_paul_caught_lying_about_his_college_record/This was on Salon back in February! A friend on Facebook reposted today.
Was there a big discussion here on that story?
Geez, it seems to me that lying about a degree that you claim you have would get you FIRED from a job most places!
How is Rand going to explain lying about it?

(45,473 posts)These GOP candidates will avoid journalists, average citizens, and even their own party while making appearances at carefully structured and choreographed events including fake town halls, pretend TV interviews (Perry already did this one), and phony religious revivals.

(82,849 posts)In his little lecture to Savannah Guthrie this morning on the Toady Show, Paul patiently explained how stuff he said just a few days ago or several years ago can't really be used against him, because that's not the way people are supposed to interview him. He illustrated his point by quoting something Netanyahu allegedly said in 1996 that Paul found still binding today.
No, it doesn't make any sense, in case you were wondering.

(63,901 posts)Are we witnessing another Republican running for president who self destructs and doesn't know it?
This is insane. Have they learned nothing from the Romney remarks about the "47 percent" in the last presidential campaign?

(82,849 posts)He seems to be a very simplistic stimulus/response kind of guy. I used to interact with this nutcase libertarian (but I repeat myself) on another message board, and after about a week you could practically script this guy's responses. During the time we were both on the board, he disclosed that he had some kind of disease or syndrome (Asperger's, maybe?) that caused him to be unable to see, understand or appreciate nuance. Everything was black or white, and in his mind anything connected to taxes or government was black. I think Paul is the same way. He gets a question and hears a couple of key words, and his brain just spits out a stock answer. The idea that people have a way of checking his present answers with previous answers just doesn't occur to him.
Luckily for Paul, most teevee interviewers just ask their questions and ignore the answers or don't know what Paul might have said before; they're too busy running down their list of questions to worry about the answers. Even today in the Guthrie interview, after Paul lectured her about proper behavior and decorum for journalists, Guthrie went right back to the question she'd been asking before Paul interrupted her.
