On Monday, Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard denounced Indianas Religious Freedom Restoration Act. This is a major victory for people who oppose the act on the grounds that it can be used by businesses to discriminate against LGBT people. Indianapolis is the largest city in the state, so Ballards condemnation, with the backing of the citys local council, represents a large part of the states population and business interests. During a press conference, Ballard announced he has issued an executive order that requires any who receives money from the state to follow the citys human rights ordinance. The ordinance nullifies the ability to discriminate against people. The Indiana Star reports on the story:

Respect for that.
