Cruz has a problem that Bush and Reagan didn't have - nobody in his own party likes him. You can only get so far without allies, and Cruz has pissed off pretty much everybody, Republicans and Democrats alike, with his overweening "let me school you" arrogance.

Is that Cruz is a 'stalking horse', sent out to fire up a section of the base, draw fire, and set the parameters for the outliers. When a real candidate comes out, they will seem sane by comparison, and thus more acceptable.

We all know it's called a Clown Car for a reason, it's just that one of the clowns may (comparatively) look 'normal'. There's the worrisome part.

pet scientists left over), right-libertarians (founded by fundie Gary North, the corporate Kochs and Hunts, a DeMille prop manager, and a Navy junior lieutenant who never saw combat and had a thing for his mom), and militarists (mad that we didn't take Red Mexico down along with Guatemala '54)
