(30,481 posts)Doesn't look like she made it off the property. Is attempted theft a crime? I really don't know. Seems like it would be very hard to prosecute "attempted theft." I would think vandalism would be the charge here. I believe she took it apart and it took someone else a couple of minutes to put it back together. Guessing nothing was broken, that is a guess. I don't see how it wouldn't rise to the level of vandalism.

(10,946 posts)and then arrested her for theft. That is what loss prevention personnel do in shops. I used to watch them nail shop lifters when I worked for JC Penney years ago. They watched the monitors and then got in place to roll them up when they stepped out of the door.
