First out of the gate: Ted Cruz is announcing his candidacy for President tomorrow

and from where? Liberty University, of course.

Ted Cruz to Announce on Monday He Plans to Run for President

Senator Ted Cruz will declare on Monday that he will run for president in 2016, making him the first major hopeful to formally enter the race.

Mr. Cruz, Republican of Texas, will make his announcement at Liberty University in Virginia, where he is expected to be a speaker at a convocation ceremony. His intention to declare his candidacy was first reported by The Houston Chronicle and an aide to Mr. Cruz confirmed the report on Sunday.

Mr. Cruz will skip the habitual step of creating an exploratory committee as a precursor to a campaign, the newspaper reported, citing senior advisers to Mr. Cruz. The move seems designed to send a signal that he has completed the exploratory phase and is ready to run.

Mr. Cruz will be effectively firing the starting gun on the Republican primary, which has been dominated so far by the early exploratory maneuvers of Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor; Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin; Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey; Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky; and Senator Marco Rubio of Florida.

9. I think he's going to make it easier for the "moderates" like Bush.

The money-bosses in the GOP aren't going to finance the Crazy Uncle Ted over tried & true Jeb who isn't a sure loser. I expect the Repub primaries to be a blood bath of accusations and an hilarious show of bombast.

11. maybe, but the republican base is fiercely right wing and loves Cruz

Bush? Not so much. So it will be a real knockout dragout fight- particularly if Cruz, as I suspect he can, pulls in a lot of money through small donations.

12. Could be. But, if Cruz (or one of the other obvious lunatics) wins the general will be a walk

for whoever the Democrats nominate.

As much as I distrust the wisdom of the American people in elections, I can't see them taking crazy pills and electing anyone like Ted. Even Reagan had his lucid moments and Dumbya could follow his smart advisers but Cruz is a loose cannon that is easily recognizable by most people.

It's going to be a very entertaining year provided by the Republican's cage fight as they try to out conservative each other punctuated by a lot of backtracking from the statements they make, "My comments about bombing Paris were taken out of context", "I was misquoted when I said that only white men have enough intelligence to hold office", etc, etc.

13. No!

It's never a walk. They want complacency so they don't have to work as hard to steal it.

8. I agree

and as happy as it makes me that he will lose. I will be looking at how much support this crazy has and that will make me a little sad.

2. Good.

This fellow has shown himself ready, willing, and able to damage the republican party. This should be humorous.

14. There should be a law against bat-shit crazy people running for president.

Which would pretty much eliminate the entire republican party.
