Obama ‘Looks Like A Skinny Ghetto Crackhead’ According To Fox News Contributor

Oooookaaaayyyy… I’m used to seeing that kind of language on Facebook pages and the emails my Beckhead father-in-law occasionally sends me, but on Fox? Not so much. They usually go for at least a little bit more subtlety when making racist comments such as “uppity”, “boy” and “man-child” but “ghetto crackhead”? Yowzer!

Thursday night, Brent Bozell, head of the Media Research Center, a Right Wing version of Media Matters that reinforces the fake “liberal media bias” trope, was responding to a short clip of MSNBC’s Chris Matthews saying that Newt Gingrich looks like a “car bomber”:

“How long do you think Sean Hannity’s show would last if four times in one sentence, he made a comment about, say, the President of the United States, and said that he looked like a skinny, ghetto crackhead?Which, by the way, you might want to say that Barack Obama does.” (emphasis mine)

Now, I don’t know what Matthews was talking about and the clip is very short so I have a feeling there is some context missing there. Newt may be a hypocritical lying pig but he certainly doesn’t strike me as looking like a car bomber. So I can understand the irritation coming from a guest on Fox, notorious for its low tolerance for even the tiniest slight against a conservative. If Bozell had stopped at “skinny, ghetto crackhead” as just an example of something nasty a conservative could say and get raked over the coals for it, this would not even be a story.

But he didn’t. He just had to toss in that last bit:

“Which, by the way, you might want to say that Barack Obama does.”

But could the writer not be bothered to at least watch the Tweety clip? When you're writing a story that you want others to read and are saying 'I don't know what that [easily accessible] bit that started this thing was about . . . '

That doesn't cut it. It doesn't excuse Bozell of course, who's a tool. But a real journalist would have watched the Tweety clip and examined its context.

And when the Baggers and Haters finally start using the "N" word...will there be any

I'm not so hopeful.

What was that story or poem...about how "they" were coming and taking every one else and "he" never
spoke up...and then when they came for him...there was no one left to speak up.
