They're taking donations so they should be totally upfront about what they're doing. In any case, domain registration has zero to do with the Hillary thing. It's apples and oranges.

And Bernie.org, which is run by the same organization as berniesanders.com claims to be run by, does not use domain anonymization and is totally upfront about who they are. So why would this other site want to be anonymous?

shouldn't it be name something broader that encompasses your love for non Dem presidents?

Sanders is not currently a Dem and therefore shouldn't be parlayed as such. IF and when he switches party, you'd have something to crow about. Until then, you appear to be promoting a non Dem candidtate.

As for the corporatist baloney...we don't even know yet who is running or primarying on the DEM ticket...yet you are running with Sanders...good god.

If you're just not in to Sen. Sanders then just avoid the posts with his name in the title. Sanders has always caucused with the Dems, and he's more of a Dem by virtue of his politics and voting record than Hillary is. I don't think you are going to convert any Sanders supporters to Hillary just because YOU don't think he's enough of a Democrat.

Democrats are tired of only being allowed to vote for Corporatist puppets, and I think Bernie is just the right kind of Democrat to help us break this cycle. You're welcome to keep supporting Wall Streets candidates, but many of us have other plans.

...they're concerned about the support a NON-Democrat is getting here on Democratic Underground.

On the other hand, why is Sanders playing games and possibly being a "candidate", yet he can't even say under what affiliation that candidacy will be?

It's getting a little tiring.

The NON-Democrat will run in the Democratic primaries or that support will fade away. Here at least.

The NON-Democrat seems to adhere to many, many core Democratic values. Many DUers hold to those same values.

I don't know why I bother to explain this to you. You know this already. You just don't like the left.

71. I appreciate being able to respond to your post. Progressives love Sen Sanders

because of his principles. In fact many progressives say that Sen Sanders' principles are more Democratic than a lot of "so-called" Democrats. Until Sen Sanders declares he is running for President as an independent, progressives are free to support him.

The Corporatist Conservatives among us are upset by that. They want HRC and the continuation of the status quo.

Those Corporatist Conservatives need to worry, the Populist Movement is real and will defeat the Wall Street candidates.

I'm a liberal democrat, have always been a liberal democrat and I want to be represented in the Democratic Party.....I refuse to vote for another third way democrat, ever!

We are in danger of having everything we love and care about go sideways in so many ways. This coming election may be our last chance to make some very important corrections in this country.

You have your opinion, and I have mine. You have your reasons and I have mine. You have your priorities and I have mine. I'm not sure anymore what the party stands for, but I know what I want.

Beyond that I want Bernie to run. I want him out there speaking up for the things that matter to me in his unique, clear, honest voice.

I have voted in EVERY Presidential election since 1968. I admit that I erred in 1968, but since have voted for McGovern, Carter, Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Clinton, Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Obama and Obama.

This belies your snarky assumption about me and the other comments. If you were correct, I couldn't have voted for any of those candidates.

You want to express your opinion, which is fine, but you also seem to want to suppress others in the expression of their opinions, which is not fine.

As far as "corporatism" goes, I want things to be run by those who are competent to run them. I have very little confidence in that regard for those who are opposed to "corporatism". I won't be voting for Sanders.

85. Right now, I'm . ..

... ready for Hillary. "Corporatism" is one of those vauge smear words, like "neo-liberal", which don't realy mean anything other than "I dispise you and disagree with you."

I am supportive of modern, industrial, liberal democracy, which is very dependent on large, for-profit, limited liability corporate organizations run and managed by technocrates who have expertise, experience and competence in their fields. In the context of a liberal democracy, this has proven to be the most economically successful and humaine social order. IMHO.

As a technical term, rather than a smear word, "corporatism "actually means something like democratic socialism. Which is sort of ironic. I refer you to the Wikipedia article:

From the 1850s onward progressive corporatism developed in response to classical liberalism and Marxism.[5] These corporatists supported providing group rights to members of the middle classes and working classes in order to secure cooperation among the classes.[5] This was in opposition to the Marxist conception of class conflict.[5] By the 1870s and 1880s, corporatism experienced a revival in Europe with the creation of workers' unions that were committed to negotiations with employers.[5]

94. Corporatism does not mean something like democratic socialism.

We all know what corporatism means in today's context.

I am against any politician that excuses socially irresponsible corporate behavior. We are immersed in socially irresponsible corporate behavior.

Some Democratic office holders have been enablers of this corporate behavior that has cost middle class Americans their standard of living. We call these Third Way, DLC and DINOs (Democrats in name only). We know who they are.

I have heard your arguments before. I know where they came from. I know what your rhetoric is designed to accomplish.

So bug off.

You mean Go Back to Canada? Sorry, no can do.

The context in which corporatism means something akin to democratic socialism is (as I stated) a narrow, technical one - but it is entirely contemporary. In the non-technical usage that is prevelent on DU it's just a smear word... just a way of saying I'm right you're wrong without anything in the way of a substantial argument or reason.

And I think it is safe to say we are all against socially irresponsible behavior, corporate or otherwise. Who isn't?

100. Nice selective editing, but you do realize that only unions practice "liberal corporatism"

A concept of corporatism that is not embraced by the third way political philosophy. The multinationals that are writing Hillary's views on free trade follow a vision much more akin to "Italian Corporatism"

Your post reminds me of the fascist apologia of the early thirties best expressed by the 1932

"Doctrine of Fascism"

When brought within the orbit of the State, Fascism recognizes the real needs which gave rise to socialism and trade unionism, giving them due weight in the guild or corporative system in which divergent interests are coordinated and harmonized in the unity of the State.[36]...

[The state] is not simply a mechanism which limits the sphere of the supposed liberties of the individual... Neither has the Fascist conception of authority anything in common with that of a police ridden State... Far from crushing the individual, the Fascist State multiplies his energies, just as in a regiment a soldier is not diminished but multiplied by the number of his fellow soldiers.

Taking the word corporatism completely out of context of modern use to imply it is something it is not, reveals you to be full of something often found on barn floors that must be cleaned from time to time.

Another cute misrepresentation of yours is your implication that neo-liberalism "doesn't really mean anything", when in fact it has a very clear meaning in it's modern usage:

Neoliberalism[1] is the resurgence of ideas associated with laissez-faire economic liberalism beginning in the 1970s and 1980s,[2][3][4] whose advocates support extensive economic liberalization, free trade, and reductions in government spending in order to enhance the role of the private sector in the economy.[5][6][7][8] The usage and definition of the term have changed over time.[7]

Originally neoliberalism was an economic philosophy that emerged among European liberal scholars in the 1930s attempting to trace a so-called ‘Third’ or ‘Middle Way’ between the conflicting philosophies of classical liberalism and collectivist central planning.[9] The impetus for this development arose from a desire to avoid repeating the economic failures of the early 1930s, which were mostly blamed on the economic policy of classical liberalism. In the decades that followed, the use of the term neoliberal tended to refer to theories at variance with the more laissez-faire doctrine of classical liberalism and promoted instead a market economy under the guidance and rules of a strong state, a model which came to be known as the social market economy.

In the 1960s, usage of the term "neoliberal" heavily declined. When the term was reintroduced in the 1980s in connection with Augusto Pinochet’s economic reforms in Chile, the usage of the term had shifted. It had not only become a term with negative connotations employed principally by critics of market reform, but it also had shifted in meaning from a moderate form of liberalism to a more radical and laissez-faire capitalist set of ideas. Scholars now tended to associate it with the theories of economists Friedrich Hayek and Milton Friedman.[7] Once the new meaning of neoliberalism was established as a common usage among Spanish-speaking scholars, it diffused directly into the English-language study of political economy.[7]

Neoliberalism also represents a set of ideas that are famously associated with the economic policies introduced by Margaret Thatcher in the United Kingdom and Ronald Reagan in the United States.[2]

122. Yes, the Doctrine of Fascism...

... does indeed, in the narrow, technical sense, belong within the sphere of "corporatism" and "guild socialism" other such authoritarian, overly collectivist political doctrines. What is your point?

The usage of the term "neoliberal" as a smear term is eluded to in the Wikipedia excerpt you provide, and in the paragraph that follows it:

It had not only become a term with negative connotations employed principally by critics of market reform, but it also had shifted in meaning from a moderate form of liberalism to a more radical and laissez-faire capitalist set of ideas.

Today the term neoliberalism is mostly used pejoratively as a general condemnation of economic liberalization policies, such as privatization, open markets, and deregulation.

That about sums it up. A "pejorative, general condemnation" - that is, a smear.

There is a general condemnation of neoliberal policies, it is a pejorative because of what it describes, neoliberalism is all about the policies of Thatcher and Reagan, two more pejoratives among us common folk that are not blowing the wealthy or being blown as such. your neoliberal policies suck and people hate them and by extension those that push them harming us financially thus driving us into poverty.

I suppose if you love Reagan you wouldn't get it, but only rightist tools admire Friedman voodoo economics, which I suppose would explain why you think it is an insult when people know the actual meaning of the term, and are therefore unhappy with it and people such as yourself.

... it's nothing but a smear. It's a smear used from the left toward the center. It's just a way of pejoratively labeling someone a radical right-winger, an Reaganite or a Thatcherite. About the same as "DINO" and maybe a bit less crude than "Turd Wayer".

The funny thing is, I've had libertarian followers of Hayek and Friedman call dismiss me as a "neoliberal".

But, you know, a REAL MAN would just come right out and tell me to "BUG OFF" and "GO BACK TO CANADA".

Seriously, no Presidential candidate takes their Senate page and uses it for a Presidential run. When he is ready, they'll grab a new name (if they haven't parked it already) and launch that. Add to that, no candidate launched a Presidential page until and unless they're ready to launch a formal campaign or exploratory committee.

....about being a "possible presidential candidate" on the "Events" page. No other mention anywhere else. He could very well wind up running again for Senator (he's due in 2018)

Here in District 1 in Connecticut, John Larson has been campaigning and collecting money almost steadily for years. He'll never lose this district (just as I think Sanders would never lose his seat in Vermont), but he has one of the largest war chests of any Congressman in the country.

What does he do with the money? He sends it to dozens of candidates around the country. For a while I was sending him money thinking it was for HIS campaign, but then realized that I was getting requests for money almost weekly and then found out he wasn't even using much of the money for other candidates in Connecticut.

That site says at the bottom "Paid for by Friends of Bernie Sanders".

That organization already has a website, http://bernie.org and the whois information shows that it was registered by "Friends of Bernie Sanders". It collects donations.
https://who.godaddy.com/whoisstd.aspx?domain=bernie.org&prog_id=GoDaddy&k=oQ7KdxcxWlKHIGkg3+ts+PLn8FNzGUbkXbF7zD3FFJIpTQj06rjuCIkyd2jcdcRB

The site you're linking to was registered by an anonymous registration service in Panama.
https://who.godaddy.com/whoisstd.aspx?domain=berniesanders.com&prog_id=GoDaddy&k=fugZBiqcFzRkpmD3uvqWv%2fRAvIxuiBvmYx8OP%2f4+cE2zGA3+MhMt5+gE7aKyOZSP
Why would "Friends of Bernie Sanders" want to hide who registered the domain berniesanders.com when they were very open about their registration of bernie.org?

I smell scam. Why have two sites, both of which take money, and one of which hides behind an anonymous registration service?

58. When Sanders formally announces for president, repost the site, and make it all nice and official

then anyone trying to cast suspicion on the website will be showing their true colors at that point.

91. People are already showing their true colors. The Populist Movement is here and the

corporatist authoritarians are running scared.

110. True. They are scared, as well as desperate.

That's my impression too.

73. Is he running as a Democrat?

If so, I wish him luck, even though I think he's gonna get pasted.

92. Is this a PAC?

Or is no real political registration needed as they are asking for money for support without definition?

93. This site is blocked for me at work, which seems fishy

Just be careful where you enter your credit card info.

I like Bernie and I hope he runs.

98. Readyforhillary website seems suspicious...

Hillary's website is using the registrar godaddy who is famous for sexist depiction of women and banned tv spots.

Doesn't seem very presidential to me. Who is tracking where the money collected from that site is going?

I'm not saying they are doing anything illegal, just pointing out that people should be cautious when visiting readyforhillary and make sure your anti-virus s/w is up to date.
