Thank you, Pres. Obama, for standing up for peace.

It's not easy in this mad world of ours. There's so many sides pushing for war - even some within your own party - that it must be difficult to stand your ground. The opposition party is so hell-bent on war, they'll parade around a foreign leader in our nation's capital whose sole purpose is to insult you and attack you.

They want war. They want it bad. Iran has always been the crown jewel of the warmongers' plan - seize it and then occupy it. It's dominated American foreign policy longer than any nation has before. It's been their mission since 1953's Iranian coup.

So many people want it. They'll lie and cheat just to achieve their goal.

Keeping sanity in an insane world is not easy. But I think history will look back positively at those who fought to bring a little bit of it to our world.

You've done your part, Mr. President.

Thank you.

1. I really don't think it's that hard for him to stand up for what he believes in, DI.. but I

appreciate your post.

And, want to thank him for working for Peace in this mad crazy, war-mongering world(we got a recent taste of that from Bibi and the Boner) where at the same time.. he has to defend us as best he can.

2. Yes, thank you, Pres. Obama, for standing up for diplomacy rather than rushing to war. Thank you.

6. It is a pretty sad poll. Maybe they should change the question, to, "Would you favor or oppose the

U.S. sending you to fight Islamic militants in Iraq and Syria"?

I wonder if the chicken hawks would still be so eager

11. Exactly. Actually I am amazed that so many people

are willing to get back into it over there. Look at Independents....just crazy.

Are we the only sane ones?

5. DUers predicted that he would be bombing Iran by now.

The same ones who insisted that Larry Summers would chair the Fed, chained CPI would become law, the Bush tax cuts would remain, that he would fast-track the Keystone Pipeline, and he would cave on net neutrality (just to name a few).

It's ridiculous to continue to see DU posts insisting that he won't veto or condescendingly insisting that he "better veto" GOP bullshit legislation.

8. Thanks for your list

It is very reassuring to list the positive outcomes of such important issues. Net Neutrality continues to sink in for me, as I was really worried about big corporations taking away our internet, which I consider our last hope to retain what's left of our Democratic Republic. I am very interested in the reaction of the right to this, as they frame it as even more government regulation and even more Big Brother encroachment on our freedoms. a POV I find utterly incomprehensible.

Now, I hope Obama re-evaluates his stance on the heinous and vile TPP, which to me appears to be selling out our entire government and Democracy to better serve the interests of multi-national corporations at the expense of the bottom 99%. "If the public knew what was in it, they would be against it." The entire trajectory of the TPP has the strong odor of Oligarch's trying to pull a very big FAST ONE on the American people. We do not need laws conceived and passed in almost complete secrecy, with no public debate or transparency. If it's so freaking wonderful, it should be shouted word for word from all rooftops in America!

15. Comparing the holier than thou brigades' outrage to the actual accomplishments of Democratic leaders

produces quite the cognitive dissonance. We've seen it with Obama time and time again, and we would see it with Hillary too.

9. The guy really likes to negotiate rather than just tell other countries what the US is going to do.

A refreshing change to say the least.
