* Norquist to Romney: Ryan owns you: We do "not expect Mr. Romney to lead as president."

* Norquist to Romney: Ryan owns you: Another telling nugget from the Times story: “Grover Norquist, the Republican strategist who heads Americans for Tax Reform, said in an interview that he did not expect Mr. Romney to lead as president. He just wants him to sign the bills that put Mr. Ryan’s vision into practice.”

1. Grover hates Rmoney THAT MUCH?

Because, he's not exactly helping him get elected this way.

3. Hmmm. Ryan was a protege of William Bennett?

Did he have anything to say bout "czars" to the teabaggers who were suddenly so concerned about the term?

9. I know... it's awesome!

I sure hope somebody picks it up and runs with it.

On a somewhat different but related topic, I thought this quote was telling:

"But those who know him cannot seem to dislike him.

“I’m stunned by how oblivious he is to the pain his policies would cause people,” said David R. Obey, a Democrat from Wisconsin who jousted often with his downstate colleague before retiring from the House at the end of 2010. “What amazes me is that someone that nice personally has such a cold, almost academic view of what the impact of his policies would be on people.”"

That's so... Reagan-y!

6. Paul Ryan

Idiot libertarian, who'll destroy Medicare and Social Security at the first opportunity, and wants a reduction in taxes for wealthy people. Somehow, he expects to close the loopholes they use to escape paying taxes.

Dumb-ass.

7. No, he expects the voters to believe he will close them

No significant loopholes will ever be closed that benefit the Rich, I predict. If he could get away with only closing loopholes that benefit the poor, he will. The Earned Income Tax Credit is one.

15. Two points

this is average for the POTUS from the RNC, has been like this since oh Reagan at least... they tend to chose CEO's not leaders.

Secondly... keep talking Grover. You are our best friend, I mean that as seriously as a heart attack. You are reminding people what the RNC WANTS to do.

18. Reagan was a big revelation for the the conservatives of Norquist's generation.

They've been selling controllable, tv-friendly morons ever since-- with the exception of daddy Bush's short tenure, which I really think was designed to segue into an eventual Quayle presidency.

22. Norquist is using words that a slave owner uses.

Last time I checked, owning slaves in the US is illegal. The slave owners took over the gop as soon as they murdered Lincoln.

26. What An Insult This Is To

Both Boehner and Romney as both would be Ryan's boss should Romney win (scary thought).

Even Ryan dances to the tune of Grover Norquist, according to this article. Lobbyists, in other words, would be in complete charge of the federal Government. And who can argue with that with Citizens United running the show.

28. And Ryan is another Etch-A-Sketch wielding bastard

who has been a slave to the ideas of Ayn Rand his entire political life but who is suddenly backtracking (or pretending to backtrack) for political expediency.

29. Actually, He Ran Afoul With Catholic Church Teachings

But the backtracking does not address any of the issues raised by the Catholic Church other than their condemnation of Ayn Rand. The Catholic Church made a mistake by including mention of Ayn Rand in their letter telling Ryan that his budget flies in the face of Catholic teachings because it gave Ryan the chance to deflect the criticism by only addressing the Rand point.
