Lester is usually a RW asshat. I wonder if he has some LGBT friends and actually is sympathetic to their rights.

Just to watch them erupt in poop throwing attacks.

But that's OK. That's what zoos are there for, after all.

The stereotype the artist portrays here (delicate fingers on knees), the empty seats on the bus, the inappropriate behavior of plopping down next to a person on a largely empty bus, along with the contrast between the grinning LGBT couple being in festive colors and Rosa Parks in the serious black-and-white with a shocked frown on her face would lead anti-LGBT people to see this as expressing the message that gay marriage is frivolous compared to the strife of racial inequality.

Given this guys past work, I think he may intend the exact opposite of the message you saw here.

Interesting point about the cartoon, but I think most people who see it will interpret it as Peggy has, so Mr Lester may be disappointed in his cartoon's affect.

looking closer at the cartoon details. Ironically, though, it translates better as a positive message, as both minorities have endured centuries of struggles.

Ironic in the sense that bigots and racists wouldn't be able to relate to that fact.

This one is puke-worthy:

In addition, a lot of them are posted at Townhall.com:

Townhall.com is a web-based publication and a print magazine with a conservative viewpoint, primarily dedicated to conservative United States politics. It was previously operated by the Heritage Foundation, but is now owned and operated by Salem Communications. Townhall.com, which publishes daily, features more than 80 columns (both syndicated and exclusive) by writers such as Jack Bouroudjian, Dennis Prager, Neal Boortz, Ann Coulter, Dinesh D'Souza, Larry Elder, Pat Buchanan, Jonah Goldberg, Rebecca Hagelin, Paul Jacob, Paul Kengor, David Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Michelle Malkin, Michael Reagan, Thomas Sowell, Jacob Sullum, Mike Adams, Matt Lewis, Amanda Carpenter, Fred Thompson, Jeb Bush, Lisa De Pasquale, Bruce Bialosky, Cal Thomas, and John Hawkins. It also publishes news from the Associated Press. Its columnists often appear as guest commentators on C-SPAN, MSNBC, CNN, and the Fox News Channel.[citation needed]

Here is the wiki for Lester:

Michael Eugene "Mike" Lester (born March 3, 1955, in Atlanta, Georgia) is a conservative editorial cartoonist and artist who has worked as a children's book illustrator. He is also the creator of the syndicated comic strip "Mike du Jour" which launched in 2012. His editorial cartoons and his comic strip are both syndicated by The Washington Post Writers Group. He has received National Cartoonists Society awards multiple times.[1]

In May 2009, Lester received the Reuben Award from the National Cartoonists Society for his work on the children's book Cool Daddy Rat.[2]

My initial reaction was positive but I did think it should say "Just Married" instead of "Gay Marriage" if it wanted to send a triumphant message.
