State Department tells Benghazi committee chairman: Witnesses are ready to talk
Democrats charge that Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), tasked by GOP leadership to lead the eighth investigation of the 2012 Benghazi attacks, has been dragging his feet for nearly eight months on getting it going, raising questions about the purpose of the investigation.
The select committee was formed in May, but it was only in early December, they note, that Gowdy sent the State Department a list of 22 officials, including diplomatic security agents who served during the attack, whom he wanted to call to testify. On Wednesday, Julia Frifield, State’s assistant secretary of legislative affairs, sent Gowdy a four-sentence letter, obtained by the Loop, that State is ready to make those individuals available whenever Gowdy is ready.

how about holding the hearings just before the 2016 elections if Hillary is the democratic candidate?

No doubt that is what little Trey Gowdy is planning, but I didn't think I'd see DUers egging him on.
