Hopefully you will have something to keep you warm in the case that power fails.
Bundle up. And find somebody you love to cuddle with. That would be my advice.
Hope you are well.

(296,848 posts)where is it going? They're saying it was overhyped.. but, safe than sorry. And, nothing's perfect.. especially not weather forecasting.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014998784
Definitely overhyped for Delaware! Zip fell overnight when it was predicted to be 3-5 inches! Hoping so for further north, too!
Cha
(296,848 posts)to be all that and get a Sandy!

(3,186 posts)Despite having lived in the Northeast for over 35 years, I'm not originally from here. I remember not understanding half of what people said for the first couple of years.
Weirdly, there is only about 2 inches of snow where I am. I hear that Boston and other coastal areas got walloped, but up here in inland Maine, it's mostly just 'wicked' bad wind so far. I'm shocked that there is still electricity and internet! Both of those things often go out for much less than this. Or even for no apparent reason at all!
It's snowing hard now, and we are are under a warning until tomorrow morning, so there may be much more to come. We shall see... More snow is very much needed. Only have about a foot of snow-pack so far, and the skiing/snowmobile industries are suffering for it.
Last year at this time, I couldn't see out my windows.
Cha
(296,848 posts)about how bad it was last year, PotatoChip!
I was the same way when I came to Hawaii.. not being able to understand what the Locals were saying for awhile.. but, the longer you hear something the easier it gets. Interesting how many dialects there are around the country .. and it's all English.. or variations thereof.. slang and all.
Glad you still have the internet.. I don't like it when that goes out. lol And, I hope it does snow enough so people can play and the snow industry can be put to work!
Pahk yah cah! Stay Safe and Warm ya Hearties!
And we'll stay warm, electricity or no. I don't have to go anywhere... Yay!!! And it's nice and cozy in here w/the woodstove cranking.
Still, I'd love to be where you are right now! The thought of warm, gorgeous Hawaii is something I can only dream about... Sigh.
Off I go to bake cookies, now... Have a great day!
Cha
(296,848 posts)Cookies.. Yummm you have a great day!

(51,076 posts)you don't think we didn't have a time understanding what either of us was saying, me with a deep southern accent, drawl, and him with his boston whatever they call it LOL+
we survived though. we both got home from 'nam mostly in one piece
Cha
(296,848 posts)different parts of the country.. it sounds so foreign even though it's suppose to be English. lol
I had that experience when I came to Hawaii talking to Locals.. I kept saying "what?" "What was that?" "Can you say that again.. slower this time?".. LOL
Glad you both made it home in one piece.. mostly.
In boot camp in the evenings I got to thinking that I must be someone special, real smart of something cause the whole company would be gathered around my bunk. Come to find out they were there more to listen to my accent than they were the words I was saying LOL
