The GOP's Absurd, Hilarious Ploy to Pretend They Care About Poor People

http://www.alternet.org/economy/gops-absurd-hilarious-ploy-pretend-they-care-about-poor-people

Across the GOP, there’s been an outbreak of claims by party leaders and presidential candidates that Republicans deserve credit for a slow-but-steady economic recovery, and that the GOP is the emerging champion of still-struggling working Americans.

Both of these assertions are brazen falsehoods. The first of these claims, by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, is the latest effort to dilute the White House's achievements; while the second—by likely 2016 candidates including Florida's ex-Gov. Jeb Bush—is another variety of political theft, all but plagarizing Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-MA.

Republicans like McConnell seem to believe their claims of credit for a growing sense that the economy is recovering will sway an unobservent public. They betting that people will notrecall that in 2013 the GOP-led the effort to undermine the government’s credit rating and forced a federal goverrnment shutdown that damaged the economy. That came after years of criticizing almost everything that the Obama White House tried to do to shift economic policy, from bailing out Detroit automakers to implementing Obamacare.

"The uptick appears ro coincide with the biggest political change of the Obama administration's long tenure in Washington: the expectation of a new Republican Congress," McConnell said, reciting his new script.

mega-reruns in trying to shut down Obamacare, Issa's hearings to try to bring down Obama and his people as well as their sagas on Benghazi would cancel out any savings they "might" have assisted with.

Is anyone listening to McConnell? There is no way I can look at nor listen to that slimy pile of human flesh without serious shudders.

It will be interesting to see his general election strategy. He's already in favor of immigration reform, he speaks Spanish, he's neutral on same-sex unions/marriage, pisses off the right with education positions, etc. In seriously expecting him any day to come out and say while he is personally opposed to abortion that it should be a personal choice left up to the woman.

If he gets enough right wing wackos in the race with him to split the votes, he could walk out of the primaries the winner with just 30% of the vote. Then pick someone more conservative for VP as an olive branch to the right in the general.

Governor rethug Kasich~

Economic growth, it's great.

But there's one thing that people in my political party don't always understand. Economic growth is not an end unto itself. Economic growth provides the means whereby we can reach out and help those who live in the shadows. You see, it's sort of like when Mom and Dad are financially healthy, they can do more to help the kids. But when Mom and Dad don't have anything, everyone suffers. But here in Ohio, we are taking our economic gains to give everyone in Ohio a chance to be lifted.

And let me be clear. It is our goal that all people in our state, all people in our state—Todd Davidson—share in the growing economic prosperity, particularly those people who are part of our minority community. They must feel included, and they must feel that they have an opportunity equal to everyone else in the state of Ohio. We need to be united.

...Empathy is the first ingredient in compassion and makes it possible for us to care enough to begin to reach out to those who have been forgotten, disenfranchised, ignored, or who are suffering, and to reach out to them in the way they need.

Empathy is about respecting others enough to learn what they feel and think....

Something is going on, and has everything to do with 2016.

An unobservant electorate is an understatement. They have the attention span of gnats.

They can't remember how repukes screwed them a month ago, much less who was President during and leading up to the last economic crisis. They swallow everything these charlatans feed them, and ask for more.

Yes, we've always been at war with Eastasia.

Unobservant electorate indeed.
