dow was at 18,100..gas nearing 1.75, economic growth at 5%, oil going below 50 a barrel perhaps to 20 or 30. (and de-clawing all of our global rivals in the process)

stupidos. I am not surprised at all at this president's accomplishments has put his approval rating in the positive while Congress still languishes deep in the negative. He's done so much for this country and for us despite unprecedented obstructionism and an unfaithful electorate that has continued to give more power to his adversaries while expecting him to do more for them, completely negating the games Congress can play in order to hamstring him.

YET...the DOW has surpassed 18,000, unemployment at 5.8%, economic growth at a whopping 5%, gasoline dropping continuously, raised taxes on people making $500k+ while cutting it for the rest of us no less than three times, got bin "Forgotten" (cuz he didn't forget), and he's defanged ol' KGBer Republicans' "manly-man" Putin and the Republicans in the process.

But don't tell it to his naysayers! They'll get upset and throw a temper tantrum. Again. And again.

This country has a love affair with itself. We only see what we want to see and only remember what we want to remember. We like to think of ourselves as the good guy and superior to all other countries. Still doesn't make it true.

Their methodology is always formulated to a predictable result. Did polling for these guys years back. Yes,they get their results, phone bank certain area codes, certain times of day, certain days of the week. Tweak the questions and answer choices to the Buyers desired Results. BTW,we had to sign nondisclosure forms after completing our survey shift. Some time ago I posted something as to the Q&A used by these two, knew right from the get go how the results would shake out. About the only Polls that are near honest is Nate Silver and he was having problems with canvasing because of Technology changes.

Did you work with them for very long? Did you figure out their "methodology for predictable results" on your own or did others on the inside get it as well?

I've long suspected that some polls are rigged on behalf of the highest bidder to steer public perceptions but I've never come across anybody who could verify my suspicions.

As to the questions on the Gallup survey - the one spoken of is pretty standard and has been used for years.

Whether the sample has problems or not, this is question is a three day rolling average and the important thing is that - with no change in questions - he is net positive and higher than he has been since August 2013. This does make since given the recent China pact, the Cuba action, the immigration executive action and the fact that the economic news was unexpectedly good over the last couple of weeks. If ALL those post election things did NOT have an impact, it would have been more surprising.

It's weirdly intermittent, though. This very thread, for example, smelled like roses until I scrolled halfway through, then got a waft of something acrid. Then... back to roses.

I heard it's something to with loose bearings. Or a flop register... whatever the hell that is.
