LA Police Union, Off Duty Officers & Supporters hijack "All Lives Matter" in Los Angeles![]() LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Things got heated outside L.A. City Hall on Sunday when demonstrators rallying in support of police clashed with protesters on the other side of the street, and the issue.
Police arrested a man who got into an altercation with a woman rallying with the police supporters. “I think it’s racism. They came over here to target black people. They’re arresting me because I’m black,” a man said to CBS2/KCAL9’s Greg Mills while he was being handcuffed by LAPD officers. “I think they’re arresting you because you pushed her,” Mills said to him. The man said, “I didn’t push her. She pushed me.” The woman who pressed charges against the man said, “I was blocking his sign, just putting my arms out, and the gentleman elbowed me across the chest.” There were other confrontations on 1st Street as a couple hundred police supporters, including off-duty LAPD officers, held their rally “All Lives Matter,” in response to the “Black Lives Matter” protests and the growing backlash to police shootings of black men all over the country. http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2014/12/28/things-get-heated-as-pro-police-demonstrators-hold-all-lives-matter-rally/ - #AllLivesMatter - Why all lives matter

3. I think police (& supervisors they answer to) would find their job easier
if they didn't view it as an 'us' vs 'them'. This isn't talking about criminals by hijacking 'Black Lives Matter'

8. How is "all lives matter" a divisive us vs them slogan?
'All' seems to be rather, well, inclusive.

16. Deflection...
The point being they are hijacking a different point being made. When the "blues" say all I bet they only mean those whom they identify as the upper class of humans, ie. white/light skinned, and that's it. By identifying what people of color are saying - that they are being treated unequally because of skin color or ethnicity - they are identifying a specific complaint. The argument that blue lives matter was not the point of contention in this issue so don't try to muddy the argument by throwing in red herring concerns, _Blue_.
This tactic of hijacking the argument is also what we have been seeing from wingnut fringe of our government and their cheerleaders - Fuxnooz - who hijack an issue and claim that they are the victims when they are actually the perps. Create a problem then run and tell everyone that the actual victim was to blame. Think 1984 AND Animal Farm for reference... I think both apply here. ![]() |

14. That's the difference between "militia" and "police"
Militia means everyone, an inclusive group. Police are an exclusive group. I'm talking about accepted dictionary definitions of the respective words.

5. It's a testament to the strength and staying power of the Black Lives Matter movement
that cops (and others) feel threatened by it,
and have to try to appropriate the symbol. |
