I am as giddy as a kid on Christmas morning, as a young man dating the cutest cheerleader, as . . .

. . . . a ballerina cast as Clara, as a young boy picked as the starting pitcher for his Little League playoffs.

I am as giddy as I can imagine being giddy at my age.

I am giddy over one word: "Cave"

I am giddy because it doesn't apply to the team I support. I applies to the OTHER guys.

THEY caved.

I don't even give a shit what the issue is (yes, I know what it is). I am just thrilled that they CAVED.

We won twice: Republican hubris did them in as they made a halfhearted push on exactly the wrong issue with the usual assumption of Democratic weakness and inevitable capitulation.

They thought they could mail in their demands and for once we said "no". More importantly our leadership discovered we don't have to cave *every single time*.

Obama played this beautifully, and I am happy about that.

But Democrats control the Senate and the Presidency. House Republicans should be caving all the time. We should not be gleeful that, for once, they caved. Republicans caving would be "par for the course" if Democrats were playing their cards well all the time.

imho

The bill still did NOT include any revenue from the wealthiest of the wealthy. It really does kick the can down the road, and we will go down the same road in February, and then in June, and then in.....

It's hard not to, I'll grant ya. I just wish this was an issue I agreed with the Democrats on.

Our team DIDN'T cave. For the first time in way too long, our team didn't surrender before the negotiation started. Our team didn't forfeit before getting off the team bus. Our team didn't do the wet-noodle-flop-over before the coin toss. Our team actually stood up.

As well as a promise to fast track XL.

I do not have a link and may be wrong, but it was said on Cenk's show that this is the case.
If true, it would seem a win for them to me even if they did "cave" so to speak.

I do hope this information is incorrect, I like you all giddy and pretty and bright!!
