General Discussion

A couple of points:
First, all of it -- every theory on why the number of clicks might be down on DU -- is idle, useless speculation. And those theories are being used as a cudgel for various factions each seeking to gain the upper hand on this board (IMO).
Second, has it occurred to anyone how totally narcissistic it would look to anyone having a look at this board over the past week to see all of these navel-gazing threads, while the country is coming apart at the seams over events in Ferguson and Staten Island and the war in Iraq is being revived? I mean, seriously folks?

(32,886 posts)I don't think Mark intended to sound like that but he and everyone else who posts an OP like that ends up sounding that way.
We can each participate in threads about 50-100 different subjects per day.

(11,417 posts)I think your OP is useless idle speculation.
And most likely posts like yours turn people off. I mean the if tenor of your post was what the majority of posts were like here I sure would avoid this board.

(3,539 posts)a sin against man.
A sin against all countrymen that we have allowed our system of justice to sink so low.
Still we tend to think in the moment.
How many Happyturkeyday decorations were unthinkingly purchased at Hobby Lobby?
How many strings of Cheepmas tree lights?
How soon will the new GOP government again champion the Ryan budget?
How many more times will a Cow-Pie militia terrorize a small town.
Even if we can only discuses one problem at a time, we must not loose sight of the other issues.
