if they were carrying those weapons and went into a bakery and were black?

The issue is the difference between how white people and people of color are treated in this country by the criminal justice system. If the went into a bakery like that, the people in the bakery would have shot them if they'd had a gun, or would have called 911 if not, and the police would have then come and shot them.

first they had a group of white kids vandalizing a car and a few black kids sleeping in a car. the kids sleeping in the car got more 911 calls than the kids vandalizing the car. no surprise there, at all.

Open carry should be banned except in a few instances.

The few times I've seen it was a couple of times in Walmart and Lowes

One guy decided to make such a point of it he turned and walked back to his car to take off his jacket
just to make sure his gun was showing.

Mind you this was winter time and pretty damn cold out.

I live just outside Flagstaff, and I rarely see anyone open carrying, just seems assholish to me.

I'm just kind of indifferent to it , either way it doesn't bother me.

But my views with firearms are probably a lot different than most members on DU
even though I don't carry or own a firearm.

76. I'm pro 2A, but with reasonable laws,

like universal background checks, no open carry, leaning toward a universal FOID card.
I'm also ok with concealed carry as long as there is a comprehensive course before being issued one.

I know the beloved Dr King said that "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice” - but really he had no proof and he gave himself a giant pass with "is long" and I have zero faith in a moral universe, the universe is incapable of giving a nanometer of a rat's ass about silly humans on some dismal blue planet in the middle of nowhere.
